Soo Yi is the Director of Cybersecurity Operations for Highmark Health, a blended health and wellness organization. Her mission is to deliver peace of mind for the millions of members and patients, that their data is protected, freeing them to embrace health. Over the course of her 20 year career, Soo has mentored and advocated for women leaders, while spearheading security operations and strategy. She believes that information sharing, enabling business outcomes, and collaboration with security partners are the most vital elements of a strong security program. Soo holds a M.Eng. from George Washington University and a B.A. from Cornell University.

Talk Title: Security Meets Privacy Tech

Kristy Edwards is co-founder for a stealth privacy tech startup. She is a cybersecurity and data privacy expert and an innovative product leader. Kristy led Product for Lookout’s cloud security engine, built Workday’s first Infosec team, and initiated privacy teams at Oracle and McKesson. She has launched 30+ products, advised lawmakers, combated nation-state actors, and protected personal data from breaches quantified as a $3.5Bn risk. Kristy holds a bachelor’s degree from Bates College and is co-inventor of database security patents. She’s appeared in publications including the Washington Post, Dark Reading and Vanity Fair. She is a board member of DoveLewis emergency animal hospital, a mentor for women and men in cybersecurity, and an energetic speaker on all of these topics.

Patty Hatter is senior vice president, Global Customer Services of Palo Alto Networks. She has overall responsibility for the customer service of security and software platforms across Palo Alto Networks.

Patty has more than 25 years of experience leading operations at large companies in the technology, telecommunications, financial services and healthcare industries. Prior to joining Palo Alto Networks, she joined the Intel organization in 2011 with the acquisition of McAfee Inc. where she served in a dual role as SVP Operations and CIO. While part of Intel Security, Patty served as chief information officer of the Intel Security Group and general manager of the Intel Security and Software IT organization at Intel Corporation, and later transitioned to senior vice president, general manager of services.

Before joining McAfee in 2010, Patty was vice president of business operations at Cisco Systems Inc. She was responsible for improving integration between Cisco’s processes and systems and the company’s sales channel while initiating enterprise-wide shared services. Earlier in her six-year tenure at Cisco, Patty led a transformation of the company’s global processes and systems infrastructure that contributed to growth, scalability and revenue.

She started her career at AT&T Inc. where she spent 15 years holding various leadership roles in strategic planning, business development and professional services within the United States and Europe.

Patty earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. She has held multiple advisory board positions, and is currently a board member for II-VI Incorporated. She previously sat on the boards of WootCloud, Qualys, Barrick Gold, and the Silicon Valley Education Foundation.

Vandana is Security Solutions Architect at IBM India Software Labs. She is a member of the OWASP Global Board of Directors. She has experience ranging from Application Security to Infrastructure and now dealing with Product Security. She also works in various communities towards diversity initiatives InfosecGirls & WoSec. She has been a Keynote speaker / Speaker / Trainer at various public events including Global OWASP AppSec events to BlackHat events to regional events like BSides events in India.

Vandana is a member of the Black Hat Asia Review Board as well as multiple other conferences including Grace Hopper India, OWASP AppSec USA to name a few. She is also one of the organiser of BSides Delhi.

She has been the recipient of multiple prestigious awards like Cyber Security Woman of the Year Award 2020 by Cyber Sec Awards, Application Security Influencer 2020 by Whitesource, Global cybersecurity influencer among IFSEC Global's "Top Influencers inSecurity and Fire" Category for 2019, Cybersecurity Women of the year award by Women Cyberjutsu Society in the Category “Secure Coder”. She has also been listed as one of the top women leaders in this field of technology and cybersecurity in India by Instasafe.

Tennisha Martin is the founder and Executive Director of BlackGirlsHack (BGH Foundation), a national cybersecurity nonprofit organization dedicated to providing education and resources to underserved communities and increasing the diversity in cyber. BlackGirlsHack provides black women and girls with resources, mentorship, direction, and training required to enter and excel in the Cybersecurity field. Tennisha has a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a Master of Science in Information Technology, Health Care Policy and Management, Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics and Cyber Investigation, and Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon, Johns Hopkins University, and the University of Maryland. She has worked in a government consulting capacity for over 15 years in Project Management, Risk Management, Audit, Information Assurance, Quality Assurance, Software Development, and Testing roles. In her spare time, Tennisha is a Cyber Instructor, mentor, and red-team leaning ethical hacking advocate for diversity in Cyber and the executive suites.

Cybersecurity Engineer at NERSC, Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. Soledad has worked for 10 years at Berkeley Lab, one of the most prestigious scientific centers in the world and one of the first nodes of ARPANET, the forerunner of the Internet, as a security analyst in the cybersecurity department. After specializing in 'penetration testing' for several years, Soledad also does research for the advancement for intrusion detection systems, monitoring of high capacity networks, and vision and research exercises on how cybersecurity will evolve in the next 10 years adopting techniques of Artificial Intelligence for intrusion detection and handling of BigData generated by monitoring tools. Soledad has also combined her work at Berkeley Lab with the responsibility of being the head of security for SC, the annual supercomputing conference in the United States, protecting and building the network architecture of SCinet, the fastest network in the world.

Talent and technology veteran, Deidre Diamond, Founder, and CEO of CyberSN and Secure Diversity, has created the largest cybersecurity talent acquisition service and technology firm in the U.S while focusing on the cybersecurity talent shortage, specifically the shortage of women. Deidre's mission is to remove the pain from job searching and matching for everyone. Deidre cares tremendously about people loving where they work and has been working to create cultures that have high EQ (emotional intelligence) skills. These skills focus on words and behaviors. Deidre is known in the D/I community as someone who works hard at making sure words and behaviors are inclusive for all so that inclusive environments can also be diverse environments.

Tomiko Evans held multiple positions in the cybersecurity arena which focus on vulnerability management, cybersecurity awareness training, and penetration testing coordinator. While excited to work in the public sector, Tomiko also decided to pursue her passion to integrate cybersecurity discipline into the protection of systems and information in Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), as she launched a startup called Aerial Footprint, LLC. She served as one of Atlanta Chapter’s founding member for Women’s Society of Cyberjutsu. She was appointed a judge for the 2020 Ally of the Year Award for Inteligenca, Inc and the 2020 Cyberjutsu Awards for Women’s Society of Cyberjutsu. She was one of the invited guests on many podcasts, including ITSPMagazine, Tech and Main, and Bridge and Tech. In 2019, Tomiko won multiple awards. The Cyber Rising Star award from Women’s Society of Cyberjutsu and the ISC2 ISLA Up-and-Coming Award. She spoke at multiple speaking engagements, where she was invited to come a second time to speak at the ISC2 Security Congress conference, in addition to being on multiple panels. After working nearly 20 years in the information technology field, Tomiko Evans decided to go back to school earning a Master of Science Degree in Cybersecurity Technology with honors from the multi-award-winning program at University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC). Tomiko has also been combining her interdisciplinary professional skills and innovative artistry to produce introductory videos and educational content with poetry and rap. As Tomiko Evans continue her journey to spread awareness to all communities, she hopes to lead the next generation towards a passion of cybersecurity and drone technology.

Alyssa Miller, Business Information Security Officer (BISO)for S&P Global Ratings, directs the Ratings security strategy, connecting corporate security objectives to business initiatives. She blends a unique mix of technical expertise and executive presence to bridge the gap that can often form between security practitioners and business leaders. Her goal is to change how we look at the security of our interconnected way of life and focus attention on defending privacy and cultivating trust.

A life-long hacker, Alyssa has a passion for technology and security. She bought her first computer herself at age 12 and quickly learned techniques for hacking modem communications and software. Her serendipitous career journey began as a software developer which enabled her to pivot into security roles. Beginning as a penetration tester, her last 15 years have seen her grow as a security leader with experience across a variety of organizations. She regularly advocates for improved security practices and shares her research with business leaders and industry audiences through her international public speaking engagements, online content, and as co-host of The Uncommon Journeypodcast on ITSP Magazine.
